Marine Park

Cascade Locks Marine Park is a gem nestled in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, drawing thousands of visitors each year with its breathtaking scenery and diverse recreational opportunities. It's a place where the mighty Columbia River meets lush landscapes, creating a haven for both relaxation and adventure.

The park's appeal lies in its comprehensive amenities. Families flock to the children's playground, while open lawns and picnic tables invite leisurely gatherings.  The Marine Park beach, in addition to being a great place to swim, is also a wonderful place to picnic (it's crucial to remember that children should always wear life jackets and be closely supervised near the water, ensuring their safety.) Public restrooms are available throughout the park.

For those with a penchant for water activities, the boat ramp and marina offer easy access to the Columbia River. Sailing and outrigger canoeing are popular pursuits, allowing visitors to experience the river's grandeur firsthand.

Beyond its recreational offerings, Marine Park serves as a portal to local history. A visit to the Cascade Locks Historical Museum provides insight into the area's rich past, while the Oregon Pony, the first steam locomotive of the Oregon Territory, stands as a testament to pioneering spirit. For a unique perspective of the gorge, a cruise on the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge is highly recommended.

A highlight of the park is the footbridge that spans the historic locks and canal, leading to Thunder Island. This accessible island offers panoramic views of the Columbia River and the iconic Bridge of the Gods, a sight that truly captures the essence of the gorge.
